Chinese upset over goldfish swimming in formation

Apparently, Chinese animal activists are upset at a televised magic trick involving goldfish swimming in formation.  I had to stop and take that irony in this morning reviewing the world news.

The TV show is quite popular, hmm, ya think maybe there’s just a hint of irony in the Chinese people being mesmerized by watching their beloved fish, which they identify with, respond in organized, orderly fashion?  Just saying…

The activists say the magician is using magnets which are harming the fish.  The magician says if he used magnets they’d all stick together.  I don’t know what’s worse, swimming in formation or being stuck together…oh right, 1.3 billion people in China.

Nevertheless, a bit of light in all the heaviness that often accompanies the news…
