Thea Levkowitz from the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition gave us an introduction to the health of the river, Leslie Britt opened sacred space in the Q’ero shamanic tradition, inviting the energies of each direction, and then Sha’ari Garfinkel lead us in chant to bless our boughs of cedar to be placed in the crystal singing bowl and released back into the river for deep energetic healing.
I offered chants of Om Mani Padme Hum and Gate Gate to the river, wading up to my knees, the gentle currents making ripples of appreciation.
In closing, everyone was encouraged to draw prayer flags as a ‘Get Well’ banner to the river, to be displayed at our next gathering, August 25th.
Stay tuned for video and photos coming soon….
