An hour later and I’m presenting at the Body Mind Soul bookstore in Houston. I thought only my aunt and cousin might come (which they did), but a whole slew of others, some Reiki masters or practitioners, others curious about how to use it in their life. One young man was going back to school for counseling and wanted to learn how I had integrated Reiki into my own practice.
One woman was from Norway, but learned Reiki in Indonesia. Another studied in Japan. Many in attendance were from all parts of the US and were eagerly wanting to connect to others in their mutual home of Houston. So many seeds were planted in just a few short hours (not to mention many books sold and signed!).
My relatives treated me to a delicious dinner and wanted me to spend the night, but the moss doesn’t grow under this rolling stone…
I wanted to ‘head out to the highway’ and drive on the open road up to Austin, where I’ll be presenting on Tuesday evening.
3 hours driving in the Northwest sometimes feels like a whole day, but tonight, gliding along on immaculate Texas highways, a few cars here and there, I let my mind just expand into the vast land all around. When I’d get out to stretch for a few minutes, the amazing sound of crickets filled the sweet, warm air.
I’m really charmed by the South. By the people, the food, the land, the culture. I feel quite spoiled and blessed.
Tomorrow before my parents and good friend come in to Austin, I’m treating myself to some bodywork at a healing center here…I give myself permission to receive!
